hello....

I am finally digging out from the sea of boxes that surround me. Oh, they are still there- but the important ones have all been gone through, I believe. Still missing... 1)Kate's phone charger   2)Kate's wedding ring

Yeah... not good. The wedding ring has me VERY concerned as you  can imagine. Now I am about to celebrate 17 years with my husband in a couple of weeks, and during that whole time I have NEVER misplaced my ring. I do not lay stuff down willy nilly (never written that! Is that how you spell it?). My wedding ring gets taken off when I do dishes and at night. And it gets put in the same place every time. All of my jewely stuff has been unpacked, but I haven't found it in any of that yet. Ugh.

The rental is OK. I'm adjusting quite nicely. It has a large family room. It used to be the single car garage before they added on a nice 3 car garage that now houses all of our stuff still packed in boxes. The family room came equipped with a projector screen so we now have a 90 inch TV to watch. I am not smitten with TV things, but I admit, it's amazing. The boys, of course, are in heaven.
There is a nice big pantry which I love. I can actually see all of my food items!!
Oreo hates being cooped up in the house. He makes a beeline for a door if he hears any activity near it. He is allowed to have "supervised" play time only outside now as I'm afraid he will head back to the old house! He usually cuts his own play time short as he soon ventures into the neighbor's yard and has to be drug back home. All of our other neighbors were so good about him roaming around their yards, but I don't know how these people will react. I don't want to upset them.

The house progress has been SLOW. After nearly a month (they dug June 17) we have basement foundation and not even a floor yet. After sending two e-mails, apparently someone dropped the ball on our project we discovered. Yesterday there was a "come to Jesus" meeting with all involved on our project so hopefully we will start to see some real progress.

In other news, Bradley heads to church camp this Sunday, Brennan is in the midst of swimming lessons, I am back to my tutoring routine, Gary just took his 3rd CPA test on Tuesday and the fourth is on July 20, the boys and I spent a great weekend up at my sister's for 4th of July, and I'm attempting to cook actual meals these days. I have had such a craving for fresh vegetables and grilling so that is where my thoughts are... of course a chocolate smores cake recipe is hopefully going to be tested out this weekend as well.

I need to upload photos - hopefully I'll do that soon and have some to share!

Thanks for hanging with me during this wild time!

  2. So sorrry to hear about your ring. I "misplaced" (I refuse to say "lost") mine a year and a half ago. I feel sick every time I think about it. I was making a meatloaf, placed in on the back of the counter and forgot about it till the next morning. It was gone. i have searched high and low. Torn apart the kitchen. Moved every appliance. Nothing. The only thing we can even remotely suspect: when Al made his lunch that morning he said "I thought I heard something fall, I looked, but saw nothing." He was wearing dress pants with a cuff. My only theory is that it bounced into the cuff and it went who-knows-where. Sick, just sick. I love my ring. I think I will have to tear the kitchen baseboards off before I am completely satisfied that its not in the kitchen (theres a small gap at the top of the boards, just below the lower cabinets.)So, I know how you feel. I really truly hope you find yours. I don't want to ask for a new one. I still have hope that mine will magically appear. I would however love an anniversary band. I have wanted one for years. And at least I would have something on my finger and not look like a single mom hauling three kids around.
Miss you bundles. i love following the house progress on FB and your blog.
    Hugs and Misses,
